light ring wear on cover
From Waxidermy: Subtitled 'The Hypnotic music of the sculptures that sound.' and released on the touchstone 'Music Of Our Time' series on Columbia, this LP is interesting not so much for Jacques Lasry's compositions, but for the fact that the music was composed for and played on the Baschet Brothers' Structures Sonores.
As the Baschet brother not named Bernard explains "My brother Bernard and I want to make a synthesis of the following three elements:
shapes
sounds
public participation
We make shapes and objects with which music can be produced manually — that is without electricity or electronics. Therefore, anyone can play on them. Beginnings in 1954 were difficult. In our attempts to synthesize new form and new sound, music people said 'this is no music' and Scupture people said 'this is no sculpture'."
The sound is airy and droning at times similar to some of Harry Bertoia's recordings, or the Columbia wind-harp LP with Partchian moments popping up here and there. Some tracks feature some minimal tabla and flute augmentation.

VERY RARE LP on Seattle's ASP label. Recorded 1968 in Furry's apartment. Issued in 1971 or 72.
These live sessions begin with Bukka playing his National steel guitar and he holds nothing back on his own Hello, Central, Give Me 49. And he performs in the style of Charlie Patton on Gray-Haired Woman. The balance of his performance was recorded on Furry's Gibson guitar during a party at Mr. Lewis' pad, and gives us the chance to hear Bukka play a wooden guitar as he did when he made his great recordings for Okeh in 1940.
Furry is in fine fettle with his Gibson, as he pumps out one inspired tune after another, including Skinny Woman, Mama's Fish Blues, Kassie Jones, When I Lay My Burden Down and more and even a playful waltz, Let Me Call You Sweetheart. The joking and story telling banter among Bukka, Furry and friends is priceless.
